In short

How much does A&M's bookkeeping cost?

Small-business bookkeeping with A&M starts at $275 a month, flat, for one company with two bank accounts and one credit card, and rises with extra accounts, transaction volume, payroll, locations and inventory. Catch-up work is quoted separately, typically $250–$400 for each month behind. The calculator below gives an estimate; a fixed figure is confirmed in writing after review.

Which of these sounds familiar?

Most small businesses arrive with one of four problems.

“We are months behind.”

Catch-up and cleanup is a large share of what A&M does, so there is nothing to be embarrassed about. We work one month first, usually the oldest, tell you what we found and what the rest will take, and give a fixed quote. Never hourly.

How catch-up works →

“It will not reconcile.”

A difference that will not clear is nearly always a duplicate, a transposed figure, a transfer booked twice, or an unchecked opening balance. Finding which is the job. We do not force it with a plug entry; that just moves the problem into next year.

“We outgrew our bookkeeper.”

One account and one card became four locations and shared cards, or the work simply went quiet. Multi-entity books and intercompany treatment are routine here, and dates are agreed up front.

Multi-entity bookkeeping →

“We are paying too much.”

A U.S. firm carries U.S. overheads and prices accordingly; A&M does not. Everything is a flat monthly figure, so it does not move because a month was busy and you are never billed for asking a question.

How it works

A review, a fixed figure, then a rhythm

No software for you to learn. Three steps, then it runs quietly in the background.

STEP 1

Request a bookkeeping review

Tell us about your books using the form below. We reply by email to agree scope and how records will be shared securely.

STEP 2

We review and quote

A first month is reconciled properly. You get what we found, the state of the books and one fixed figure in writing. No obligation.

STEP 3

The month runs

Records in at the start of the month, reconciled books and reports back on the dates agreed in writing. If something will be late, you hear from us beforehand.

Every month after
The commitment

Every month reconciles, or we do not invoice it.

Reconciled means the books agree with the statement — not “close enough”. If a delivered month does not tie out, and the reason is not something outstanding on your side, that month is not charged.

The fine print, because it matters: this applies where we have the statements and access we asked for. If an account is missing, a statement has not arrived, or a figure depends on information only you can give, we tell you what is outstanding rather than quietly write the month off. The written engagement terms govern.

What the same work costs elsewhere

Published 2026 U.S. market ranges for a small business with two or three accounts and roughly 150–400 transactions a month, with A&M's own figure in the same list.

U.S. CPA firm, bookkeeping departmentBilled hourly, typically $80–$150 an hour$900 – $2,200/mo
U.S. online bookkeeping serviceBench, Xendoo, Bookkeeper360 and similar plans$300 – $995/mo
U.S. freelance bookkeeper$35–$60 an hour, or $60–$90 if certified$500 – $2,000/mo
A&M Offshore AccountingFlat monthly fee; founder reviews each month$275 – $750/mo

Sources: published 2026 pricing guides and rate surveys from Intuit QuickBooks, industry pricing benchmarks and providers' own published plans, for a comparable scope. Ranges are the market's, not A&M's; they move, so check them yourself. The difference is not a discount on the work: A&M does not carry U.S. payroll, U.S. office overhead or a sales team.

Questions

Small-business questions

What is included in monthly bookkeeping?

Every transaction categorised in QuickBooks Online or Desktop, every bank and credit-card account reconciled to the statement, payroll posted and tied to the register, payables and receivables kept current, and a monthly profit and loss statement and balance sheet. At year-end your CPA or tax preparer receives reconciled books to work from.

How are records shared safely?

Not by ordinary email as the preferred route. After the review request, we agree a secure transfer method with you. A&M never needs your online banking login. Details →

Do you need access to the business's bank accounts?

No. A&M works from statements and from access you grant inside your accounting software, which you control and can revoke.

What software do you work in?

QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop, primarily. If you use something else, ask and we will say honestly whether A&M is the right fit.

What if there is more than one company?

Each company is priced separately. Entities that share cards or costs need the intercompany treatment sorted properly, which is real work and routine for A&M.

What does catch-up cost?

Priced per month behind, as a one-off, separate from the monthly fee: usually $250–$400 for each month for ordinary books, more where volume is high or the file is in a bad state. Catch-up pricing →

Why is this cheaper than a U.S. bookkeeper?

Because A&M works offshore and does not carry U.S. payroll, a U.S. office or a sales team, not because the work is thinner. It is the same reconciliation, done by an in-house team and reviewed by the founder, who has about twenty years on U.S. books.

Does A&M prepare tax returns?

No. A&M is not a CPA firm. It prepares books your CPA, EA or tax preparer can work from.

What happens if we stop working together?

You tell us and we stop. Your file is yours, and A&M hands over everything in whatever format your next bookkeeper needs, according to the engagement agreement.

What A&M is — and is not

A&M Offshore Accounting (Private) Limited is not a CPA firm. It provides bookkeeping and accounting-support services: keeping books current and reconciled, cleaning up prior records, and handing over organised, tax-ready books.

It does not provide audit, review, assurance or attestation services, tax preparation or tax advice, legal advice or investment advice, and it does not prepare or file tax returns. Those stay with the client's CPA, enrolled agent, tax preparer or other licensed professional.

Where A&M supports payroll or sales-tax reporting, that is reporting and support prepared from the books. It is not tax advice or a compliance determination.

The founder holds Intuit QuickBooks credentials. These are software-training credentials, not a professional accounting licence, and they do not make him a CPA.
